Frequently Asked Questions
Can I just use human shampoo on my dog?
Vets advise against it, because human skin is more acidic (pH about 5.2–6.2) than dog and cat skin (about 6.2–7.5). Human shampoo can damage a dog's protective skin barrier and strip natural oils, which can lead to dryness, flaking or irritation.
